Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism has intensified inspections of hospitality facilities in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah during the first half of Ramadan, aiming to ensure high service standards for pilgrims and visitors. According to Saudi Press Agency inspection teams conducted 1,166 field visits in Makkah, identifying 762 violations, while in Madinah authorities carried out 426 inspections and recorded 128 violations. Alongside enforcement efforts, the ministry also undertook awareness campaigns to support compliance, with 887 awareness visits conducted in Makkah and 367 in Madinah. In total, more than 1,420 hospitality facilities in Makkah and over 573 in Madinah were monitored during the period. Reported violations included failure to comply with regulatory requirements, inadequate hygiene standards, and incomplete employee documentation. The ministry urged visitors and residents to submit inquiries or report concerns through the Unified Tourism Center by calling 930.
