First visit by Israeli Prez

At the Crown Prince’s invitation, President of the State of Israel Isaac Herzog will visit UAE. The visit stands as testimony to Israeli and Emirati nations’ bold new partnership.

During the visit, on January 30 and 31, 2022, President Isaac Herzog will meet the ruler of the United Arab Emirates Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed; Vice President, Prime Minister, and Defense Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and representatives of the Jewish community. He will also open Israel’s National Day at the Expo 2020 Dubai.

President Herzog, ahead of his departure, said: “We have the privilege of making history by making the first visit of an Israeli President to the UAE. This visit comes as the Israeli and Emirati nations are busy laying the foundations of a new shared future. I believe that our bold new partnership will transform the Middle East and inspire the whole region. We are a peace-loving nation, and together we will expand the historic circle of peace of the Abraham Accords and create a better, tolerant and safer world for our children. I thank Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for this invitation which will deepen our nations’ bonds of friendship.”

National Day of Israel

Based on the pavilion’s theme of inclusivity and the similarities between Israel and its neighbours, the pavilion scheduled a fun-filled day for visitors starting at 11:45am. Visitors can look forward to drum circles and dance performances and a performance from Amir Lustig, the Israeli award-winning mentalist, Anna RF, the electronic Ethnic Reggae band, throughout the day.

The pavilion also hosted a treasure hunt with a trip to Israel as the grand prize sponsored by Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF). The visitors looked out for Israel pavilion hostesses at the four main entrance gates of Expo 2020, where they were handing out the first hint to participate in the long-awaited treasure hunt.
