The Oman College of Tourism celebrated the graduation of the class of (2026) of its students who obtained Bachelor’s and Higher Diploma degrees in the specializations of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Events Management, Tourism Marketing Management, and Business Administration. The ceremony also included a video presentation showcasing the success stories of graduates in various fields of work, along with parents’ impressions. The students also performed a special song for the graduates entitled “It is Tourism”. At the end of the ceremony, the sponsor of the ceremony honored the graduates, numbering 277 male and female graduates, in various disciplines. The ceremony was sponsored by His Highness Sayyid Mohammed bin Thuwaini Al Said. The graduation ceremony included a speech by Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al Mahrazi, Dean of the Oman College of Tourism, in which he stressed that the college’s attainment of full institutional accreditation is a strategic achievement that reflects its commitment to applying the highest international quality standards. He also stated that the comprehensive development of its management of the academic system aims to provide the tourism sector with qualified national talents capable of competing in the labor market in the Sultanate of Oman. Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al Mahrazi pointed out that the college has succeeded in activating broad academic and industrial partnerships, which have contributed to providing more than 200 field training opportunities in the aforementioned fields, while achieving a rate of Omanization that exceeded 90% in the academic and administrative staff at the Oman College of Tourism, confirming the college’s commitment to empowering national cadres.
Dr Shehara Rizly Fernando manages Middle East content, bringing over three decades of experience across print, broadcast, and digital journalism in Asia and the Middle East region. Beginning as a broadcast journalist, she transitioned into print and digital platforms, covering news, travel, tourism and destinations, hotel development, and aviation. She is also a strong advocate for women in the industry, consistently championing their growth and empowerment throughout her career.
