Expo 2020: A new beginning

Opening its doors with great hope for the future, Expo 2020 promises to be one of the most incredible events of all times. Bringing in more than 190 countries, with each country having its own pavilion, this is the biggest event not just in the region but in the world. We would like to share some comments from our partners.

Shehara Rizly

Larry Ng, Commissioner General, Singapore Pavilion

The Singapore Pavilion’s theme of ‘Nature. Nurture. Future’ is a reflection of our sustainability journey and paints a picture of the world we want to live in. Within this incredibly lush, green, multi-layered structure, visitors can discover Singapore’s urban innovations through our immersive exhibits, and explore Singapore’s rich social and cultural offerings through local delicacies and specially designed merchandise, in addition to a variety of programmes, such as workshops, talks and movie screenings. By showcasing the Singapore Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, we hope to connect with international partners and open their minds to the idea that it is possible to build sustainable, resilient and liveable cities anywhere in the world, thereby creating greater impetus to collaborate and make that vision a reality.

The onset of Expo 2020 is certainly an event that the entire world is anticipating. Dubai, being centrally located with strong connectivity and ease of doing business, is an ideal place for companies to connect and expand. Expo 2020 will not only bring different countries under one roof, but also the expertise from each nation can be shared through healthy collaborations. JBR is one of the closest and the most vibrant areas of Dubai to the Expo 2020 site, hence we expect to have a great footfall from the visitors and tourists. This will not only benefit the hotels in the area, but also the retail shops and standalone restaurants. Habtoor Grand Resort, Autograph Collection, is a sprawling beach property with views of the Arabian Ocean and the Dubai Skyline. Its ease of connectivity to all modes of transport serves as an ideal spot for staycations.

Dubai is all geared up to welcome the world on October 1 for the opening of Expo 2020. This highly-anticipated mega event is a testament to how Dubai has successfully bounced back after the unprecedented events of the last year. As one of the first cities to reopen for inbound travelers in July 2020, the city has witnessed a steady increase in occupancy and revenue. The six-month exhibition will bring in millions of visitors from more than 191 countries, which will significantly benefit and give a boost to the hospitality industry. Located within a 20-minute drive from the venue, Ramada Hotel & Suites by Wyndham Dubai JBR is expected to host corporate guests and leisure visitors who will be present at the exhibition.
